The OECD Tax Statistics: Revenue Statistics - Data on government sector receipts, and on taxes in particular, are basic inputs to most structural economic descriptions and economic analyses and are increasingly used in international comparisons. These databases give a conceptual framework to define which government receipts should be regarded as taxes and to classify different types of taxes. They present a unique set of detailed and internationally comparable tax data in a common format for all OECD countries from 1955 onwards.

This dataset contains tax revenue collected by Switzerland. It provides detailed tax revenues by sector (Supranational, Federal or Central Government, State or Lander Government, Local Government, and Social Security Funds) and by specific tax, such as capital gains, profits and income, property, sales, etc.

The pre-1970 figures are not strictly comparable with those from the following years which were revised slightly.
"Parish taxes" are not reported in these statistics from 1985 onward.

Heading 1100: payments made in consideration for exemption from military service could be classed under nontax receipts.

Heading 2000 (Social security contributions) has been revised from 1985 onward to take account of the sectoring of government units adopted when switching to the ESA 95 system of accounts (currently ESA 2010). Consequently, health insurance contributions and those to the Swiss National Accident Insurance Fund are now excluded from Heading 2000.
