The UIS collects R&D data from more than 200 countries and territories through its biennial research and experimental development survey and partnerships with other statistical organizations, such as Eurostat, Red Iberoamericana de Indicadores de Ciencia y TecnologĂ­a (RICYT) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

The UNESCO Innovation Statistics dataset includes over 600 indicators for 70+ countries from 2005 onwards.
