This dataset presents internationally comparable data on instruction time in full-time compulsory education. It covers primary and lower secondary general education, but excludes pre-primary education and upper secondary general education, even if compulsory. Total number of instruction hours and the distribution of hours per subject is available by level of education.
Data on teachers' teaching and working time are from the 2019 OECD-INES Survey on Working Time of Teachers and School Heads.
